Game of Thrones Online, subtitled as Seven Kingdoms, is a browser-based sandbox MMORPG based on the successful HBO TV show Game of Thrones adapted from the bestseller of A Song of Ice and Fire by George Martin.

Set in the world of Westeros taking place in the medieval age, Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms doesn’t follow the plot of the show, but makes lore of its own roughly against the same background of seven kingdoms in conflicts. It starts with the demise of King Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark, and puts players into the warfare among three factions – the Baratheons, the Lannisters and the Starks – as the Starks of the north wage war against the south while Baratheon’s two brothers compete for the throne.

In Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms, players will choose sides in the three-faction PvP game, sticking to one with loyalty or switching allegiance for own sake. A series of combat will be included from guild war to castle siege, and the warfare will be complicated by the deception, corruption and conspiracy. So far, much of the game information is under wrap. Described as a sandbox MMO, it should incorporate editor tools or something like that to realize the player-generated contents; of that there is not a single clue unveiled yet.

Like all titles such as Zoomumba, Skyrama and Battlestar Galactica Online from Bigpoint, the game will be free-to-play.
